Store power when it's cheap, use it when grid electricity costs the most.
Store solar (or off-peak) energy and use it in the evening instead of buying it from the grid when rates are highest.
When the power goes out, your home keeps running. Lights, fridge, internet, and the essentials stay on automatically.
Storing and using your own power means buying less from the grid, so future utility rate increases hit you less.
The battery itself costs you nothing to get started — $0-down options available with no cash out of pocket.
Takes less than 60 seconds — no cost, no obligation.
Rocky Mountain Power pays you for adding a battery and letting it support the grid during peak hours.
Rocky Mountain Power pays a one-time enrollment incentive: up to $2,000 for a single battery rated 10 kW or more, up to $1,000 for a battery under 10 kW.
Earn $15 per kW per year on your bill in years 2–4 (up to $100/yr), rising to $50 per kW per year from year 5 on (up to $250/yr).
In exchange, Rocky Mountain Power can draw part of your stored energy during high-demand times. They never drain your battery below 10%, and your battery still powers your home during outages.
This is an enrollment incentive paid by Rocky Mountain Power through the Wattsmart Battery program, not a loan you have to pay back.
Incentives are offered by Rocky Mountain Power through its Utah Wattsmart Battery program and are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Program terms effective June 15, 2026. Upfront enrollment incentive is up to $2,000 per household for a single battery of 10 kW or larger and up to $1,000 per household for batteries under 10 kW; incentive is based on a single battery's rated output, and multiple smaller batteries do not combine to reach the higher tier. Requires a four-year program commitment; leaving early requires repaying a prorated portion of the upfront incentive. Annual bill credits begin in year two and are capped per year. Battery must be new, on Rocky Mountain Power's qualifying equipment list, pre-approved through a customer generation application before installation, and remain connected to Rocky Mountain Power's battery management system. Standalone batteries require a Time-of-Use rate. Batteries installed before approval are not eligible for the upfront incentive. Eligibility is determined by Rocky Mountain Power.
